A language-learning trip to England

We, the English E-courses of the 9th grade went on a trip to England from June 13th to 17th. We started with the bus from Höxter at 6 o ́clock and drove to the ferry port in Calais (France). After we arrived in Dover (England) we continued driving with the bus to our destination Eastbourne. When we arrived in Eastbourne our host families already expected us. In the evening everyone had something to eat, from their host families, and then we went to bed early, because we all were tired from the long drive. The next day we explored Eastbourne. At first we did a rallye in the town centre and at the beach. After that we could do whatever we wanted. The city was very beautiful with the amazing pier and the delicious famous fish&ships. In the evening around 6 p.m our busdriver drove us back to the host families. The next day we had to wake up very early in the morning, because we drove to the capital city London. As we arrived there, we had to wait for a boat that would take us to the downtown. On the way we also saw some sights, that we usually only see in our English books. On the way we saw the Tower Bridge, the Shard, the Palace of Westminster, the Tower of London and the London Eye. Then we got off the boat at the Big ben. The first impression was overhelming. There were so many people and so much was going on. We followed our teachers and did a photo in front of the Big Ben. After that we were able to do whatever we wanted to do. We only had 6 hours in London, which definitely wasn ́t enough time. The city is so big and there is so much you can see and visit. Some of us went with our teachers around London and the others were walking by themselves. We visited China town, the M&M store, the Hard Rock Cafe, the metro and we saw the Piccadilly Circus, the Buckingham Palace, the Trafalgar Square and the Oxford Street. On the way back to Eastbourne everyone was tired, because the day was very exhausting. On the third day we drove to Brighton. The city was eighteen times smaller than London. We went up to the lookout tower called British Airways i360. The view was amazing, we were able to see the whole city. The rest of the day we spent time in the city or the rollercoster park at the pier. On Friday at 6:45 we started to drive back to Germany. At midnight we finally arrived in Höxter. The whole trip was very funny and informative. We all were very sad, that the trip was already over, because we were an amazing group and we all had fun together.
